Characteristics of natural convection in n-eicosane in a square cavity with discrete heat source

چکیده

The natural convection of phase change material (PCM) in a two-dimensional square cavity is numerically analyzed. consists heat surface with constant total heated area and adiabatic wall. Grashof Prandtl numbers for the PCM (n-eicosane melting temperature, Tmelt=36°C) basic LHS system are 9 × 10^5 62.7, respectively, at 350.15K. mass, momentum energy balance equations were considered. Three heating strategies considered (discrete sources): single, side-side side-bottom surface. results show that transient Nusselt number, mean kinetic storage rate fluid effectively enhanced by proper arrangement discrete source location from bottom half left right sides requires least time 300 kJ storage. indicate optimally placed sources could be promising alternative high-efficient thermal
